More Razorback Pics

Daddy and Jansen during the game. Our seats were facing the sun and of course we forgot Jansen's sunglasses so he wanted to wear Jack's hat to shade his eyes some! It's a little large but oh so cute on him!!

Jansen eating his hot dog during the game. This hot dog was huge and he ate almost the entire thing!

After the game, the team walks around the field and shakes hands with the fans at the edge of the bleachers. Jansen was lucky enough to receive a wrist band from one of the players who walked by. We don't know which player gave it to him but he loves it and wears it almost everyday!!

This picture loaded again, oops!

Our family before the game

Jansen and Nathan C. He plays trumpet in the razorback band and we saw him before the game and he was nice enough to stop and take a pic with Jansen. Nathan went to church with us before going to college.

We had the wonderful opportunity to go the Razorback football game in Little Rock on Sept 11. Some of our dear friends have season tickets and had 2 extra for that game so we just had to buy Jansen a ticket to get in and then he sat in our lap! We had such a fun time together as a family and with our friends Andy and Emily and her parents Scott and Julie. The game didn't start until 6:00pm but we went about 1:00pm to tailgate for the afternoon. It was sooooo hot this day! We sat around and talked, relaxed, the boys played bag-o and threw the football around a little. Jansen absolutely loved the entire day! To make it even better the Hogs won the game!!!!

Special Sunday

The first Sunday night of every month we have singing night for our evening worship service. Jansen has been leading a song since he was about 2 years old with the help of Jack but recently he has been announcing the song number all by himself in the microphone and leading the song by himself also ! Makes a mommy so happy to see her little boy worshipping the Lord! Our congregation also celebrated a milestone with the children who started kindergarten this year. A picture story book bible was presented to each of them during our service and they all got to come up front and receive their book. A very special moment to remember. The picture above is Cade, Jansen, Lauren, and Lily.

Jansen leading his song during the service. This night he led I Will Call Upon the Lord. Thank you God for letting me be Jansen's mommy and letting me witness all these precious moments in his life. I pray that he lives his life for you and continues to grow loving you more and more!

A Happy Heart

Jansen came home from school today with a note from his teacher in his folder that I think Jack and I will always remember. The note reads as follows:
Jansen,
I wanted to tell you how proud I am of you for being a good friend to our new student. You were so kind to him and thoughtful by patting him on the back and leg when he was scared. You made my heart smile!
Your Friend, Mrs. Bonner
Wow!!! My little kindergartener!! Mrs Bonner has no idea how proud that makes his mommy and daddy also! We strive to teach him the love of Christ and to be a godly example in everything he does and we pray each day that he lets Christ live through him and shine for others. Today is one of those days that I think he did that. It may not be a big deal to others, but to us this is something huge! Jansen, we pray you continue to live to be a follower of God and to love and comfort others in uncertain situations. We love you sweet boy!!!!

6 months

Has it really been 6 months since Jillian entered our arms and then went to heaven a few hours later that day on March 5, 2010? It seems like it was just yesterday that we said hello and goodbye to our sweet girl. I don't have much to say with this post except we have survived these difficult days and months with Gods help, love, and strength he provides as well as the hope we have of knowing we will see her again one day in heaven.

Razorback Red

These 3 boys are precious in my eyes! Jansen with cousins Conner and Kyle

Jack, Jansen, and myself

Luke, Stephanie, and Kiley

Daniel, Rita, Conner, and Kyle

Jansen and Conner wearing their razorback red for the football game while riding the John Deer 4 wheeler during halftime of the game!
This weekend has been very relaxing and much needed since Jansen started school. Saturday morning we all 3 slept really late and didn't do a lot around the house. We went out to our close friends Randy and Debbie's house around 3 to swim, eat, and watch the razorback football game. Randy and Debbie are Daniel's parents so we do a lot with them, they are actually like another set of parents to us! We all wore our razorback red for game day and had to get pictures together with our families. We swam, relaxed, ate, visited, cheered on the hogs, and ate some more! We had chicken fajitas with sides, cookies, apple cobbler, ice cream, cookies, dip and more! It was such a great Saturday and even better that the Hogs Won!!!

Dessert as Dinner

The Before: Chocolate Butter Mess-- the best dessert ever!!

The After!!!! Rita and I shared this and ate the entire thing!!

Rita, myself, Emily, Stephanie and Kylie. Rita was holding Kyle but the lady that took our picture did not get him! He was really in his car seat, I promise!

Sweet Kiley after she had ate ice cream!

Steph and Kiley with their Butter Mess

Friday night Jack and Jansen went to a high school football game in our area and so did Rita's husband Daniel, Steph's husband Luke, and Emily's husband Andy. We all decided we did not want to go sit at the football game, especially when we really didn't know anyone who was playing. We decided instead to have a girls night. We really weren't that hungry but the idea of going somewhere getting dessert sounded pretty good to all of us. Marketplace was my vote so that's were we went. Rita and I love their Chocolate Butter Mess! To me it is by far the absolute best dessert in the world! The pictures tell the story but let me describe it.... It is a glass frozen with chocolate on the inside and outside of the glass, filled with ice cream, topped with whipped cream and peanut butter drizzled on top and nuts sprinkled on also! It is heavenly! Rita and I decided it would be in our best interest if we shared one and we pretty much licked it clean!!! What a fun night with some of my very best girlfriends-- love you girls!

Emily's Baby Shower

All of the hostesses for Emily's shower: L to R: Debbie H., Tammy B., Stephanie C., Emily, myself, Marilyn S., and Rita H.\
The very cute Banner Rita made as part of the decor

The door hanger I made for Emily to take to the hospital and hang on her door when she has Brooks

Cookies I also made--they are not perfect or professional by any means but they did taste pretty good!

I'm not sure why this picture posted two times, but oh well, the hostesses again!!

Last Sunday I hosted a baby shower at my house for one of my best friends, Emily, who is due to have her first child, Brooks next month. I knew I wanted to do this for Emily and I knew it would help me to overcome my difficulty with going to baby showers. I had not been to a baby shower since Jillian was born until I went to Rita's baby shower for Kyle in July. I really had fun planning Emily's shower and I really enjoyed getting to celebrate the upcoming birth of Brooks with all of our friends. Emily got lots of cute goodies for baby Brooks and we had lots of yummy snacks at the shower! We can't wait to meet Brooks and pray that God blesses Emily and Andy with a healthy and happy little boy through a safe delivery!!

Homework and School

Jansen's first sheet of homework-- I don't know why it is sideways, I can't get it to load correctly.

Jansen doing his homework for the first time ever! My baby is such a big boy now!!

Jansen had homework for the first time just a few days after school started. I couldn't believe it, my baby is only in kindergarten and has homework???!!!! And guess what? He has had a sheet of homework everyday since then! He has had to practice each letter of the alphabet after they go over it that do at school. He brings home a worksheet and has to write the capital and lower case letter and circle the letter among other letters in an "alphabet soup". He really seems to be doing well in kindergarten so far and loves school, looking forward to going every day. The second week, he did not get a sticker on his chart one day. I asked him what happened and he said he was "chit chatting" a little much! He also had to stand on the fence and miss 10 minutes of his recess that day! The boy is just like his daddy when it comes to talking!!!
